The Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival has been on our list of festivals to go to for several years and it did not disappoint! This festival is BIG with food, live music, and tons of craft vendors. And best of all, it looks like a true community celebration with vendor booths even being located inside one of the fire department buildings!

This fun, family-friendly festival has been going on since 1978. The Scarecrow Festival happens every October in Chappell Hill, Texas. In 2019, parking was $5 but admission was FREE! Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.

What to Bring to the Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival

We'd suggest being prepared for changes in weather by wearing layers. In 2019, the morning started off pretty cool and breezy, but warmed up in the afternoon. Sunglasses were helpful, but most importantly be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking and you want to see as much as you can. Don't forget time... set aside the day to enjoy yourself. There is a lot to see here.

Where is Chappell Hill TX?

Chappell Hill TX is located between Houston and Austin just North of Highway 290. Festival terrain is a combination of concrete streets and grassy fields. It was a great way to spend a day.
