Our Favorite City, County and RV Parks of 2019
Video: Our Favorite City, County and RV Parks of 2019
We were able to visit some amazing places in 2019! We stayed in some beautiful parks, ate great food, visited interesting attractions, met a ton of incredible people... the whole experience was awesome. But of all of the places we visited in 2019, a few really stand out as our favorites. So we thought it would be fun to share our favorites of 2019 through a series of posts. First up: Our Favorite City, County and RV Parks of 2019!
Before we get started, we should clarify. To be included in our favorites lists, we had to have visited in 2019. There are definitely a lot of places that we've visited prior to this year that would rank high on our lists of favorites, but for this series, we're only looking at 2019. So, now that we've got that out of the way, let's get to it!
By the way: We share a lot of the reasons why we chose these parks, in our video above. So make sure you watch the video to get the full story.
Best RV Park for Dogs
Because of its pup friendly amenities, our choice for Best for Dogs goes to the park where we began 2019: Highway 6 RV Resort in Houston, Texas.
Best Amenities
If you've been with us for a while, this one probably won't surprise you. Jamaica Beach RV Resort in Galveston TX has an ever-growing list of amenities. And we forgot to mention in the video, that they have recently added a nature walk!
Hidden Gem
You just never know what you're going to find when you travel, and we were really surprised by Rocky Pond Recreation Area, a city park with full-hookup RV slots in Belleville, Kansas. You can see Rocky Pond Recreation Area in our Kansas to Nebraska Video.
Most Unexpected Feature
Another surprising find, Quintana Beach County Park in Quintana Beach, Texas sits right on the Intercoastal Waterway. We sat in our campsite and watched HUGE ships pass by. Amazing!
Best Trails in a City, County or RV Park
Another small park that took us by surprise: First Capitol RV Park in West Columbia, Texas! What a gem!
Most Scenic RV Campsite
Site with the best view for 2019 goes to Pecan Park Riverside RV Park in San Marcos TX. The view out of our windshield looked right at the San Marcos River.
Most Unique Layout
For this category, we go to Las Cruces, New Mexico and La Hacienda RV Park. They line up their pull-through sites so that no one's picnic table is next to their neighbor's hookups and the sites are separated by privacy foliage.
Our Top Favorite City, County and RV Parks of 2019:
Honorable Mention: Pecan Park Riverside RV Park in San Marcos TX
Runner-Up: Highway 6 RV Resort in Houston TX
Our Favorite Overall Experience at an RV Park in 2019: Jamaica Beach RV Resort in Galveston TX
Every park we mentioned in this post are awesome, and we look forward to spending time at each of them again. But these three topped our overall experiences this year. On top of their other plusses, they are conveniently located for exploring their local areas.
We hope you enjoyed this recap of our favorite city, county and RV parks of 2019. Next up: be sure to check out our favorite State Parks of the year!
